A former gunfighter's fresh start as a ranchhand at the Cannon ranch is threatened by four old foes. The other ranchhands and Johnny's teenage son, Dan, don’t know about Johnny's past, leading them to misinterpret his decision to forgo a gun and his efforts to dodge conflict. However, doubts about Johnny's bravery quickly vanish when he faces off against three men from his former life.
