In a series of flashbacks, John Cannon and his brother Buck reflect on their tumultuous past. Years earlier, lawman John apprehended Buck, who was on the run for bank robbery and murder. As they make their way to town for Buck's trial, they are pursued by Buck's old accomplices, intent on ensuring the truth of what happened remains hidden.
