Episode Overview
Joel and David find themselves in a tense standoff with armed robbers who have taken hostages at a sporting goods store. Meanwhile, Ray, frustrated over not receiving a promotion for not "stepping up," decides to go undercover as a paramedic to gather intelligence inside the store. Unfortunately, he is recognized as a police officer by one of the criminals, leading to his brutal beating, kidnapping, and threats on his life. Ray must persuade the store manager, a former TV cop, to take action against the robbers. In a critical moment, Ray cleverly contacts Tom instead of his wife, relaying vital information to the SWAT team. In the end, Ray learns a disheartening truth about the manager, whose character once inspired him to become a police officer.
