On Halloween, Springwood College is buzzing with excitement as students enjoy a lively costume party. However, Marsha is more interested in hitting the books than joining the festivities. Someone offers to be her study buddy, but soon after, Marsha begins experiencing terrifying nightmares. Her deranged grandmother returns from the grave, her boyfriend meets a tragic fate, and Marsha finds herself ensnared by Freddy Krueger. Desperate to break free, she seeks help at a dream clinic that captures dreams on tape, only to realize that there’s no way to escape Freddy's grasp.
