S02E13 An Old Fashioned Christmas
Episode Overview
Oliver wants to celebrate a traditional Christmas by cutting down a tree from his own land. However, Mr. Haney cautions him that it’s illegal to do so. Curious, Oliver heads over to Drucker's to ask Sam about the law. Mr. Drucker suggests an artificial tree that even comes with a gadget to extract the sap, along with fake candy canes and popcorn strings. He advises Oliver to get a permit from County Agent Hank Kimball. After securing the permit, Oliver finally decorates his tree. Meanwhile, at the Ziffels, Doris is upset about their artificial tree and believes Oliver has the right idea. The group then visits the Douglas home to see Oliver’s tree, but they quickly flee when Lisa presents her infamous fruitcakes made from hotcakes!
