Ralph is eager for Hank to invite Lisa to the Carpenter's Ball, but Hank keeps dodging the idea with weak justifications. Hoping to spark a connection between them at the event, Lisa invites Hank to be her date. Before long, the gossip in Hooterville escalates, leading everyone to believe that the Douglases’ marriage is in trouble and that Lisa and Hank are eloping to Acapulco.
