After being stabbed in the chest, Alex finds herself as a ghost, visible only to Charlie. In this state, Alex comes to terms with having witnessed her father take his own life. Meanwhile, Joel grapples with his feelings regarding Alex, leading to personal struggles. Maggie decides to break up with Gavin, ending their relationship. As events unfold, Alex slips into a coma, trapped between life and death, continuing to linger as a ghost.
