Episode Overview
Renee continued to torment the other inmates with her bullying tactics. Shaz and Denny tricked Sylvia into their cell, quickly escaping and locking her inside. To gain her freedom, Sylvia had no choice but to hand over her keys, a serious violation of the rules. Meanwhile, someone was caught crushing nuts to mix into the pepper. Denny took it a step further, adding moldy bread to Renee's orange juice. After using the tainted pepper, Renee choked and collapsed, ultimately dying from an allergy. Helen led the first session for the lifers while the police questioned Shaz about the bread, to which she confessed. Following a drinking incident, Fenner left for home. Autopsy results revealed Renee's death was due to an allergy, clearing Shaz of blame. As punishment for the keys incident, Karen demoted Sylvia to a basic officer and cut her pay for a month.
