A talented but cocky teenage detective arrives in town, set on catching Kid the Phantom Thief. This intensifies the pressure on Kaito, particularly since they attend the same school. Kaito finds himself in competition with Suguru, even outside of their detective roles, as they engage in a playful "gentlemen's bet" to see who can secure a date with Aoko.
