S02E01 On With the Schmo
Episode Overview
The season two premiere introduces Tim and Ingrid as the new Joe and Jane Schmo. They quickly get acquainted with their fellow contestants, but a few are humorously eliminated in a nod to the stereotype of "ethnic" participants being the first to go. During a gift exchange, suitors present tokens to Austin and Piper, the show's leads, who reciprocate with their own gifts. The game "Lap Dance for Love" gives Ingrid and Tim an early realization that they're not part of a typical reality show. The inaugural Falcon Twist reveals that one girl will be sent home and that the contestants are vying for a potential $100,000, a detail they must keep from Austin and Piper. Rita, who is tipsy, gets dismissed in the first Pearl Necklace ceremony as Austin seeks someone more serious. Meanwhile, Ingrid piques interest by questioning two actors about whether they had rehearsed their lines for Austin, likening their situation to "The Truman Show."
