On Christmas Eve, Ricky and Amy are enjoying their first holiday as a family. Ricky reminisces about a childhood tradition where he and his friends from foster care would sneak into a toy store each Christmas Eve. Inspired, Ricky, Amy, and John decide to recreate this tradition by sneaking into Hedy's, where they are delighted by the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, Ethan, dressed as Santa to surprise John, arrives with a very pregnant Kathy. While the others celebrate, Grace keeps vigil at the hospital with Jack, who remains in a coma after his beating. The holiday takes an unexpected turn when Kathy suddenly goes into labor.
