Jim strives to bond with his son Kyle through sports, only to discover that Kyle feels more at home with sci-fi enthusiast Andy. In an effort to reconnect with his son, a hesitant Jim agrees to don a Cyclops costume at a sci-fi convention, hoping to bridge the gap between their interests and regain Kyle's affection.
