Overview
Cheyenne Bodie, a towering figure and former army scout, ventured westward after the Civil War, taking on various roles as a cowboy and lawman, embodying the quintessential hero. Cheyenne, an American Western series, aired 108 black-and-white episodes on ABC from 1955 to 1963. It marked a milestone as the first hour-long Western and the first dramatic series with recurring characters to exceed a single season. Produced by Warner Brothers under William T. Orr, it broke new ground by being the first major studio series not based on existing film properties.
