Robert believes that adopting a stray dog could help Nicholas move on from his imaginary friend, but they need to keep the pup a secret from the dog-hating Jerri. The school psychologist reassures Robert that having an imaginary friend is perfectly normal. However, when he excitedly shares the news about the dog with Jerri, both she and the psychologist start to think he’s the one losing touch with reality.
