After serving time in prison, Butch Cassidy is freed, and Jim Hardie, the man responsible for his incarceration, is given the job of persuading him to join Wells Fargo. During a train journey, Butch encounters his old outlaw companion, Idaho, who, along with a group of bandits, is conspiring to rob the very train they're on.
