Jim Hardie comes across a wrecked stagecoach and discovers two survivors: a drummer who has had $5,000 taken from him and a young girl grieving the loss of her cherished doll, a gift from her late mother. With the driver deceased, the drummer's recollections and the missing doll become essential leads for Jim as he seeks to unravel the mystery.
