Episode Overview
In Maine, Tod and Linc are employed at a sawmill and live with Poppa, a one-armed former logger from French Canada, along with his lovely daughter, Marie. Eager to please, Marie adapts to whatever a man desires. She and Linc are romantically involved when Marie confides in Tod that she intends to hurt Linc. Meanwhile, Sailor Jack comes to town during his break between ships and has a brief affair with Marie. Ultimately, when Marie expresses a desire to leave home in search of herself, Tod and Linc manage to convince her to stay.
