Episode Overview

Kevin McCloud visits Lysette and Nigel Offley as they embark on a project to replace an old boathouse along the Thames with a modern home. Inspired by the river's natural flow, they've envisioned a design featuring waves and curves, complete with a large glass porthole for a skylight. However, challenges arise quickly; they struggle to find a contractor willing to work over water, their architect departs unexpectedly, and expenses soar beyond their budget. To complicate things further, their neighbors are resistant to such a bold change in their traditional neighborhood. As the couple starts to make concessions, Kevin questions whether their vision can truly come to life.
