On the day the students must complete a mandatory mile run at school, which coincides with the much-anticipated free-ice-cream-day, the kids devise a clever scheme to escape. Meanwhile, Bob and Linda are in a rush to get discounted tickets for a performance at the Wharf Arts Center, leading to a chaotic race against time.
