Episode Overview

While out for a run, Brenda finds a dog trailing behind her and feels compelled to find it a home to avoid taking it to a shelter. Meanwhile, Brandon and Steve step in to coach Jim's little league team after he injures his back during practice. Brandon is frustrated by the entire situation, especially the league president's overbearing influence and the players' attitudes. He sets up a practice match against Nat’s team of underprivileged kids, where one of his players mocks the struggling second baseman. Upset when Steve refuses to bench the boy, Brandon leaves but remains loyal to his father. He also lends a hand to Nat's team, which starts to improve when Andrea introduces a talented female player.
