Joey returns to the beach apartment and confides in Kelly that he feels abandoned by his mother, who has remarried and is expecting a baby. Meanwhile, Brandon, Tracy, Clare, Kelly, and Joey assist Steve by stacking sandbags at his father's Malibu house to prepare for an impending storm. Kelly reaches out to Joey's mother, leading to a joyful reunion with her and his new stepfather. David seeks Dr. Martin’s help regarding Felice, but the doctor suffers a stroke during their meeting, causing Donna to initially blame David. Rob annoys his manager by asking Val for advice on a movie deal, prompting the manager to offer Val $10,000 to persuade Rob to accept. Jim and Cindy invite Brandon to join them in Hong Kong for spring break, and despite his reluctance, he eventually gives in to Tracy's pleas.
