Elena and Damon embark on a journey to Denver to ensure Jeremy's safety and to explore whether his unique abilities can shed light on the ancient vampire bloodlines they seek. They quickly discover that Jeremy has fallen in with a questionable crowd. Meanwhile, Stefan and Klaus resort to ruthless measures in their quest for a lost weapon. Caroline is overjoyed when Tyler comes back to town, but he soon begins to suspect that she might have a connection with Klaus.
