Galen schemes to reclaim his throne while Elena, realizing the counter-revolution is at risk, seeks Michael's assistance. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman arrives in Denver to investigate Colbyco thoroughly. Carress Morell, a journalist, turns out to be Alexis' sister. Observing Blake's declining mental state, Alexis is poised to take action. Adam coerces Blake into signing over power of attorney, and while he brags to Claudia about his new authority, she remains skeptical and continues her efforts to prove she owns the oil well. Sammy Jo discovers Joel and Rita's plot to poison Blake and escape to South America with Krystle. After much reflection, she warns Steven, but it might be too late. Steven rushes to the mansion just as Blake, apparently suffering a heart attack, tumbles down the stairs.
