When Michael Jones unexpectedly passes away in his mother Ashley's hospital room, she immediately suspects her ex-husband’s adult children, Miles and Hillary Foster, who are vying for their father's large estate. However, the autopsy clears the Fosters of any wrongdoing and leads detectives Green and Cassady to investigate the possibility of illegally procured donor bones that Michael had received during a transplant eighteen months earlier. As McCoy and Rubirosa work to build their case, they realize that their only chance of obtaining crucial evidence lies in testing another young man who also received grafts from the same donor as Michael.
