Melanie and Mai find themselves in a daunting predicament after deciding to hitchhike. Meanwhile, while Anita and Drazic's romance flourishes, Charlie and Katerina's relationship is faltering. When Les announces the closure of the school newspaper, Melanie and Mai gear up for a showdown. Mai arranges an interview with an influential figure, misleading Melanie into thinking they have the day off — they don’t! In a rush, Mai convinces Mel to hitch a ride with her. They soon grow anxious as their driver veers off course, leading them to a desolate industrial area with no apparent escape. Back at school, Anita encourages Drazic to showcase a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream, but when his rehearsals falter, she devises a creative way to help them succeed.
