Overwhelmed by guilt, Ryan grapples with potential criminal charges and the haunting possibility that his actions could cost Anita her life. Meanwhile, Melanie faces her own turmoil. She opts to leave Hartley High to seek happiness with Jay, despite her father Tony's attempts to convince her otherwise and his plan to have Jay fired. As Charlie grows closer to Aurora, he believes she's the one for him—until he walks in on her in a passionate embrace with another man, leaving him heartbroken.
