In 2022, Cecília understands the negative impact the "House of Paz" will have on both Água-Marinha and Maria's business, prompting her to take significant action. At the same time, Maria starts to view Cecília from a new perspective. Flashing back to 1922, despite gaining insight into the era's restrictions, Paz leverages her influence and enlists Cecília's close friend to try to sway the priest's favor.
