Episode Overview

A woman seeks to have her Uncle Edgar institutionalized, convinced he is losing his mind. When the examining doctor visits Edgar’s cluttered apartment, he hears Edgar's claim that a mysterious Voice guides him in collecting various junk to create a device that maintains global balance. The doctor decides to have Edgar committed, but soon after, a small Pacific island is devastated just as Edgar had foretold. Realizing the man he deemed insane is actually insightful, the doctor arranges Edgar's release, only to find that he has been selected to take over as the new "balancer" of the world.
