As Halloween approaches, Lauren is unsettled by some older boys in her neighborhood. Amy encounters prejudice during a P.T.A. meeting, prompting her to stand her ground. In open defiance of Susie's instructions, Maxine continues her investigation into a boy who has gone missing from a family with a troubled past involving child abuse.
