Episode Overview
Donna finds herself in over her head as she steps in for Bruce as Amy's Chief Staff Officer. Bruce is busy trying to persuade a probation officer about a teenager assigned to a diversionary program that Amy hopes will keep him out of jail after a fight with his old gang. Meanwhile, Maxine’s nephew Kyle reenters the family, much to Amy's annoyance. Amy faces a tough decision regarding a young boy who stole a rifle and killed a yak during a coming-of-age ritual: should she commit him to a secure psychiatric facility or let his Native American tribe handle it through a sentencing circle? Additionally, Kyle’s medical expertise aids Maxine in uncovering why five boys from a reputable foster home have unexplained severe abrasions on their arms.
