Amy feels frustrated when the courthouse janitor tries to set her up with her son, especially with the ongoing chatter about David leaving. Meanwhile, Lauren continuously urges Amy to let her attend rock star camp. The political tensions at D.C.F. create a particularly challenging atmosphere until Maxine devises a clever plan that successfully reunites a mother with her two sons. While overseeing a shoplifting case, Amy uncovers that it's tied to the neglect of the plaintiff’s children, including the daughter of the renowned defense lawyer. David sends Amy a postcard from Houston, prompting Kyle to quit his job and reevaluate his life choices after learning his father never chased his true dreams. Maxine has a disagreement with Ignacio regarding his concerns about Courtney dating Sean due to their different backgrounds, and Amy is taken aback when Bruce sides with Ignacio. Maxine also mourns her brother's passing, feeling especially heartbroken when her sister-in-law requests her absence from the funeral.
