Lucious and Thirsty attempt to thwart Eddie's takeover by presenting him with legal documents. As Cookie reflects on her tumultuous relationship with her mother, she also continues her quest to locate her friend’s orphaned daughter. In the meantime, Andre struggles to find his footing, while Hakeem nervously devises a strategy for releasing his 20 for 20 single. Meanwhile, Jamal and Tory are on the lookout for a fresh team to help them produce their debut single independent of Empire.
