Bonnie is convinced that her vivid dreams about Klaus' coffins hold the key to discovering his vulnerability. These dreams also lead her to reconnect with her mother, Abby, whom she hasn't seen in 15 years. At Abby's secluded farmhouse, Bonnie and Elena encounter Jamie, a young man Abby took in long ago. Abby is taken aback by Bonnie's unexpected visit but tries to shed light on their complicated history. Meanwhile, Tyler seeks help from an unlikely source to regain his autonomy. Damon finds himself drawn to Alaric’s new acquaintance, Dr. Fell, while Klaus continues his tense negotiations with Stefan regarding the coffins that house his family.
