In an exciting twist, eleven out of the 17 previously eliminated contestants returned to the MasterChef kitchen, vying for three coveted second-chance spots. Devon, Kate, Courtney, Daniel, Philip, Jimmy, Jake, Peter, Skye, Sharnee, and Matthew faced four rounds that tested their culinary fundamentals. The challenge began with peeling 400 grams of prawns, where Sharnee fell behind and was sent home. Next, the contestants crafted the ideal potato mash, leading to Kate's elimination for being the slowest. In the third round, they raced to prepare 10 French-style pancakes, resulting in Matthew’s departure. The final challenge required the remaining chefs to whip up Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce within a twenty-minute limit.
