Harold signs up for a university experiment aimed at transforming the Possum Lake community into a communist society. Red constructs a garbage compactor using a garage door opener, while Ed Frid introduces a wild parrot to the mix. Walter creates a glider airplane out of wallboard. Meanwhile, Red invents a contraption that gives the illusion of standing while sitting down, and he devises a clever method for hiding vegetables rather than eating them.
