A teenage boy with a mental disability witnesses the killing of a well-known wrestler, and his testimony points to his uncle, also a wrestler, as the killer. With the uncle arrested, Nick and Natalie step up to seek joint custody of Joey to support him. As Nick investigates the truth behind the murder, Natalie, eager to assist the boy, makes a choice that has unexpected and serious repercussions. Her well-intentioned actions risk bringing about destruction and deep emotional pain rather than the aid she intended to provide.
