Overview
Hyacinth Bucket, a determined suburban housewife from the West Midlands, is on a relentless quest to elevate her social standing. Insisting on the pronunciation of her name as "Bouquet," she prides herself on being a perfect hostess and a pillar of high society. However, her aspirations are often undermined by her eccentric family, including a senile father who prefers to roam freely and a brother-in-law whose fashion sense leaves much to be desired. With a beleaguered husband, Richard, and a friend, Elizabeth, who endures her antics, chaos often ensues amidst her attempts to maintain appearances.
