Masterclass (2010)

Overview

MasterClass is an engaging documentary series on HBO that showcases young artists as they learn from renowned mentors. Premiering on April 18, 2010, the inaugural episode features opera legend Plácido Domingo guiding three aspiring singers. Participants are selected from YoungArts, a Miami-based initiative by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts that nurtures emerging talent. Directed by Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon of Simon & Goodman Picture Company, and executive produced by Lin Arison, the series received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2011 for Outstanding Children's Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Program.
