Episode Overview
After two Watchers are killed by Kalas, Joe discovers that Kalas is in pursuit of Methos, the legendary "oldest Immortal." MacLeod understands that if Kalas acquires Methos' quickening, he could finally overpower him. This prompts a race between Kalas and MacLeod to locate Methos first. Meanwhile, Richie manages to join a prestigious motorcycle racing team, causing the reigning champion, Basil, to feel uneasy. Flashbacks reveal Kalas as Antonio Neri, a celebrated opera star in 1920s Paris. When Kalas threatens a girl under MacLeod's protection, they clash. Although Kalas escapes, MacLeod wounds his throat, crippling his singing ability. In a tense moment, as Kalas nearly captures Methos, Methos offers his life to MacLeod, who declines and confronts Kalas himself. Just as he seems to gain the upper hand, the police arrive to arrest Kalas for the murders.
