Blanche's father, affectionately known as Big Daddy, arrives in Miami with some surprising news: he has sold the family plantation and is pursuing a career in country music. At the same time, Sophia takes matters into her own hands by casting a curse on a neighbor who stubbornly refuses to cut down a tree that toppled onto their lanai during a recent storm.
