Elena comes back to Naples and discovers that Lila has struck up a romance with Stefano, even though Marcello's shadow hangs over them. As Lila steps into a more luxurious lifestyle with Stefano, Elena cautions her about the gossip circulating in the community. Later, in an attempt to match Lila’s newfound relationship, Elena decides to pursue one admirer while turning down the advances of another.
