Title: Time of the Hawk (1) Plot: Buck, Wilma, and Twiki embark on a journey through the cosmos aboard the Searcher, a starship tasked with locating the lost tribes of humanity—those who escaped to the stars following a catastrophic nuclear war. During their voyage, they come across a badly damaged vessel with a lone survivor who recounts a brutal assault by a creature known as Hawk. Determined, the Searcher heads toward Hawk’s home planet, leading Buck into a fierce contest of strategy and piloting against the bird-like adversary. When Hawk's companion is fatally injured during the conflict, Buck and Hawk reluctantly ally to find her medical help. In the end, Hawk decides to join Buck's crew in search of others from his species.
