As Season 2 kicks off on November 1, 2006, New Orleans is still grappling with its recovery from Hurricane Katrina, which struck 14 months prior. Colson and the police force face mounting challenges as crime rates soar. Toni becomes increasingly concerned about Sofia's emotional detachment, while Albert searches for a new home. Annie is back from her national tour, and Delmond launches his new album in New York, where Janette is employed at a fashionable restaurant. Meanwhile, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band takes the stage.
