Following the detention of a pair of lively "party girls" from Mount Pilot, Andy and Barney find themselves forced to delay their anticipated outing with Helen and Thelma Lou. To keep their dates from fretting, Andy paints their captives as tough lawbreakers. The ruse succeeds—until Helen and Thelma Lou opt for an unexpected trip to the courthouse, throwing their plans into disarray.
