The Andy Griffith Show (1960)
S07E23 The Statue
Episode Overview
Howard proposes that Mayberry honor Andy's ancestor, Seth Taylor, with a statue recognizing his contributions to the town's charm. Once a local artist finishes the statue, it receives accolades from the Taylors and the townsfolk. However, Andy and Aunt Bee are stunned when Mr. Simmons reveals that Seth collaborated with his ancestor to defraud the town. Initially, they consider keeping this information hidden, but during the statue's unveiling, Aunt Bee decides to come clean. Ultimately, Floyd steps in, reminding everyone that, despite Seth’s flaws, he still played a significant role in shaping Mayberry into what it is today.
