Australia's Hidden Islands (2017)
S01E02 Kangaroo Island
Episode Overview
This island has been isolated from South Australia for 10,000 years. Among its notable features are the Kelly Hall Caves, which contain numerous animal bones from creatures that became trapped. With few predators around, the island’s wildlife has flourished. The Kangaroo Island Kangaroos, a distinct subspecies of Western Grey Kangaroos, have adapted to this unique environment, resulting in their shorter, stockier, and furrier appearance compared to their mainland relatives. The island is also home to the small Fairy Penguins, although their population is dwindling. As dawn breaks, they venture out to sea in search of food, while the largest species of Cuttlefish inhabit these waters.
