Penny receives a mysterious gift from a fleeing thief, who urges her to safeguard it. Together with Dr. Smith, she unravels the mystery behind the gift, leading them to a magical ring that grants its wearer the power to turn anything into platinum. Dr. Smith revels in his new ability until he realizes that his food is also turning to platinum. Unable to take off the now-immutable ring, he leaves the camp in fear of starving. Meanwhile, a galactic lawman hunts for the stolen device, intent on using it for his own sinister agenda.
