Lost in Space (1965)

Episode Overview

Professor Robinson learns that the planets' alignment will subject the spaceship to extreme heat. Armed with this information, the Robinson family departs in the Chariot, heading south. Meanwhile, Dr. Smith, who remained on the Jupiter 2 out of disbelief, notices the unusual orbit, which alternates between severe cold and intense heat. He sends the Robot to warn them, prompting the family to make their way back to the Jupiter 2. However, they encounter a vast inland sea that had previously been frozen. The drastic temperature changes have scorched the surrounding vegetation. They manage to endure the heat and safely return to the Jupiter 2, finding refuge there.
