Episode Overview
Rachel is on the hunt for extracurricular credits and decides to run for student council president. Meanwhile, the Drama Club is set to put on Bye Bye Birdie, but Mr. Belding announces its cancellation due to budget cuts. To support the club, Eric suggests that Katie should run for president. While Rachel's over-the-top campaign gains attention, Katie's serious approach struggles to keep up, prompting Nicky and Eric to help spice things up. However, when Katie tries to address the Drama Club's plight, Nicky interrupts her. In a close race, Screech's poll shows the candidates tied. Maria hosts a segment on her Bayside TV show where the candidates answer audience questions. Unfortunately, Rachel's campaign manager, Ryan, turns other clubs against the Drama Club. Katie's campaign video fails to mention the Drama Club, causing them to withdraw their support. Afterward, Katie expresses gratitude to Nicky for his help but promptly dismisses him from her campaign.
