A dropped bag of diamonds from a robber's getaway vehicle has sparked a frenzy in Hazzard, and Bo and Luke Duke find themselves at the center of the chaos after discovering the gems first. As they attempt to inform the state police about their find, they encounter the original thief, who disguises himself as a reporter to reclaim the diamonds.
